A Busy Summer

The end of July found Ariel and I on a little getaway on the Oregon coast. We stayed in a cute little place just south of Cannon Beach and enjoyed the local sights and sounds and especially each other's company! Hiking, beach combing and eating were at the top of our list. It was a very restful few days
The old growth forests were beautiful and even though most days required a light jacket, the views were breathtaking!
How I love the mighty Pacific Ocean!
Windblown but happy!
Ariel at the Octopus Tree. Quite an interesting sight. Not sure how it came about. Looks like possibly two or three trees that decided to make a go of it together!!
Lots of good fresh seafood was consumed!!
Ariel marking the occasion in the sand!
So much driftwood. The Pacific coast can be quite fearsome when the mood strikes!
We attended a live theater performance and found a great day spa for some pampering!

After the trip to the coast it was back to work harvesting the garden and keeping up with day to day activities! Then in August, Noble and Julian came up to spend a few days. Julian got to play with cousins and Noble helped me sort some of Doyle's things. We loaded the car with electronics and other items and drove to Utah for a week!!
It is nice to have two of my boys in the same county!!
So glad that Noble is happy in Draper and enjoying his job! Julian is growing up too fast.
Already going to second grade!
Noble bought a house on an acre in Draper, UT. It is an older home, built in the 40's. Needs some work, but is a good investment. He found out during the process that the home had been part of Ebenezer Brown's original homestead. Ebenezer Brown is Noble's 3rdGreat Grandfather! Talk about coming full circle!! Doyle would have loved it!!

Down to Micah's in American Fork...these kids love to have their picture taken...so here is Caleb (3) in his Sunday best and Eden (8) who found the perfect flower for grandma.

Silly little Cosi making faces and lovely mama- Rebecca! They are a great little family!
Love my grand babies!

Home for a few days when Ammon and Ailene and their two little ones came from New York City for a visit!
It was warm the last week in August so Amaia and Aden enjoyed going to the Aquatic Center with Haven and her kiddos too!
BBQ several nights and Aden was delighted with the kabobs!
Nea is so good with little ones and was a great help! Here s Nea, Matthias, Aden, Liora and Amaia getting a rusty old wagon ride!
In the middle of the festivities our stake donated 185 backpacks for the Refugee children in the Spokane area. The Stake Relief Society put me in charge, so Ammon and I loaded and he drove to Spokane with this Suburban full to the roof! The World Relief folks were so happy to have the backpacks in time for school to begin!

Aden IS in farming country so of course he should be allowed to drive a tractor!!
Our little budding musicians!
A trip to Leavenworth ended our super two week time together! The hat shop is always a hit and the bratwurst and taffy were well received also!

It has been a whirlwind of a summer- so good to spend time with family and friends!

As always, Moses Lake knows how to say farewell until we meet again!
